Description Share Post Tomato, Tomato, Tomato! Sarah Finan (Post Wave) Big or small they’re ‘rainbow bright‘! Then there’s a ‘pop, squish, squash, with every bite.‘ We’ve tomatoes! What’s not to love? After all, don’t tomatoes ‘roll around and off [your] plate?’ Furthermore, there are so many ways to eat tomatoes, from ‘sliced or diced or chopped in four‘. What’s more you can have them ‘cooked or raw!’ Then again, what about the juice and seeds and all they can do? Just think of pizza or ‘salad, stew and spicy rice’! Aren’t you building a craving for tomatoes? You will after reading Sarah Finan‘s beautifully formed, punchy, poetic ode to tomatoes? It seems like a real examination, a picture book of great respect and revelation to this most noble fruit (vegetable). While this reader cannot get excited about ketchup on ‘golden fries‘ (sorry) the raw, unbridled sight of tomatoes offers boundless joy. Like Granny Pip Grows Fruit for example, this wonderful picture book offers information alongside joy. Then again, the cut-outs, primary colours, rhyme, shape and accessibility of this book is exceptional. We are so proud to welcome it aboard. In fact, we imagine that tomatoes are likely to become a featured read at meal time!
