Pablo and Splash 4: Viking Voyage

Description Share Post Pablo and Splash 4: Viking Voyage Sheena Dempsey (Bloomsbury) In Pablo and Splash 4: Viking Voyage, their not-so-friendly rival Benji the penguin and his annoying gang are determined to steal Professor O’Brain’s time machine.  They have learned much about the Vikings from Pablo and Splash and are determined to use the Time Machine to go back to Viking Ireland.  They manage to sneak aboard and soon are on their way.  However, they find themselves on board a longboat full of Vikings intent on marauding  and preparing to attack an undefended monastery. Luckily, our heroes have a new time machine and are able to follow Benji back in time.  They must warn the monks that trouble is on the way.  They also have to rescue a priceless manuscript from the Vikings. As always with this great graphic novels series, the illustrations are full-colour and packed full of fun.  There is so much happening in the graphics, but not so much that the narrative gets too crowded.  The detail in the Viking costumes and boats, alongside the wacky humour is wonderful.
