Sandy and Arjan begin to suspect that the adults in the town are being replaced by robots.  Even worse than that, Sandy’s Mum appears to have been stolen by robots, at the very least.  It soon becomes clear that at the centre of all this robot takeover is none other than Tony Toaster, the owner of a huge toaster factory in the town.  When they get trapped inside the factory and meet Colin, a friendly robot, the boys will need all their courage and inventiveness in their quest to save the day. Alex Kirk’s debut novel has plenty of tension, lots of peril and crazy characters.  Moreover, this bright and fresh book is fast-paced and very funny.  Humour is often used in the most perilous moments and the illustrations by Tim Wesson are great fun.
