With just 67 minutes allowed to find the Avenir, Drew and his friend Meg first have to decipher the code needed to even enter the maze.  Then things get really difficult, and dangerous.   Choices have to be made when faced with various pathways, while the Maze seems to play tricks with their minds.  Corridors collapse, stacks of filing boxes appear.  They also find themselves on a runaway train hurtling towards disaster.  Along their journey, they encounter other children trapped in the maze.  As he gets ever closer to the centre, Drew begins to recognise clues he is sure they should follow.  However, is he heading towards a dead end? Time is running out, and there’s still no sign of Evie. Drew struggles to understand what is happening to him. This is an exciting thriller story, with lively characters and a brooding atmosphere.  As the story progresses, we begin to suspect that everything might not be as it seems.  Christopher Edge continues to write compelling stories that fuse action with ideas around science and the progress of time.
